Summer Loving - Things You Need To Have A Blast
*Cue music to Grease’s Summer Nights*
Over the past month or so, I have been thoroughly enjoying the vibrant sunsets, sun kissed shoulders, and sweet memories of friendship. This summer lovin happened so fast but thankfully we still have a few more months of long sunny days and warm starry nights.
There is a handful of items, new and old, that have made its way into my adventure bag this summer and has made life a breeze for this lazy gal. You have asked and this is my answer:
Stainless Steel Straws with a Reusable Mason Jar Cover
I have been working on being more conscious of the waste that I have been producing and these babies have helped me significantly decrease my “to-go” usage. You already know that my hipster love for mason jars run deep and these two items just complete the sustainable package. I still get to enjoy my iced blackberry fizz and the occasional iced turmeric lattes without the guilt of throwing away a single-use cup. For those of you who are enjoying those summer coffee-fixes, this is a definite must. Plus haven’t you heard how bad straws are for the environment? Let’s start thinking about the turtles people.
Compostable Makeup Wipes
Just released this past June 2018, these are everything that my sloth soul has asked for. Everyone knows that sleeping in your makeup is a big no-no, so when I am rolling in from a late night out with friends this summer these are what I am reaching for. You know...so I am not a total grub the next morning. These have been awesome on camping trips and the after work beach sessions when I look like a total raccoon coming out of the water.
Other than being chock full of good for your nutrients, they align with my environmental effort. Each wipe is botanically made and is completely compostable, so basically...they are perfect.
Let It Set Spray
When Arbonne announced that they were discontinuing the Oil Absorbing Moisturizer, my heart admittedly dropped at the news. I have combination skin that leans more on the normal side but with the summer humidity in Hawaii...I was prone to an oily sheen that goes beyond that natural highlight. While this setting spray is designed to help your makeup to last longer and protect your pores from pollution, I find that it has helped mattify my problem areas. My favorite part, however, is the fact that it refreshes my bare skin after the beach and minimizes that crusty feeling your skin gets from the salt. Since its launch in June, this particular product has found a permanent place in my everyday bag.
RE9 Soft Focus Veil SPF 30
The more I learn about skin care, the more I have realized that sunscreen is so important at any stage of your life. This universal tinted sunscreen has dutifully served as my foundation all summer long and my skin is thankful for the breathability. And I am thankful for the lazy skincare routine! Best thing of all? It meets TSA regulations for carry on liquids, so it makes for perfect summer travel.
This limited edition makeup set is here for just the summer heat and it gives anyone, anywhere that island vacation glow. These little minis have been a lovely addition to my makeup bag, letting me add much need color to my face while still letting it breathe. Plus, they are hydrating enough to not dry my skin out buuuutt I don't feel like I have to blot my face throughout the day...which my bangs are grateful for.
Summer Reading List
Schools out, I know. But as I mentioned before, I have a love for reading words not just writing them. So I have been making an active effort to always have a book on hand, whether it is a physical copy or an audio version.
Summer is nearing an end but my favorite part about all the things I am currently loving is that they are here to stay. Whether the sun is shining or the rain is falling and the partially cloudy days in between, each of these items has a permanent place in my lifestyle.
What are your summer must-haves?
Until next time, tah.
