A New Chapter - JulieAnne
Clear Creek, Winslow, Arizona
Today is the day. You are starting your new chapter, at only 16. There is so much I would like to tell you about college, but part of the experience is..well..experiencing it. There is lot that you will need to learn in your first months off on your own, so it is a good thing you have a rather steep learning curve. To name a few:
Falling Back into an Old Passion
I have always had this connection with water, probably due to growing up on an island. With that said, being in a land-locked state can have me craving a dip. Nothing beat the ocean, but Arizona has provided a close second.
Trespassing - North Shore, Hawai'i
The thing with having a hobby is setting the time aside to spend on it. From the minute my canon came into my life, I could not stop snapping moments. I have countless SD cards, some of which have been misplaced in my move, dating back to when I was 14 years old. Somewhere in the last 7 years I fell out of my hobby, my passion. Between the move up to Arizona and adjusting to college, I began to stop making time for photography.
Letter to My Mom
With all of the open land available to explore on Maui, it is quite common to come across a "no trespassing" sign. Sometimes the grass really is greener on the other side, there may even be a baby waterfall or two in it for you. There are places where it is okay to disregard...and then there is not.
Letter to My Dad
I do not tell you this enough, but I am proud of you. With every obstacle that comes in your path, you find some way to overcome it. As cliche as it sounds, you are my role model. I know you are most likely rolling your eyes right now, but you truly are. I strive to have the strength to be as successful as you are.
Happy Father's Day. It's been a while, about nine years or so. I just wanted you to know that I miss you. I also wanted you to know that even though you are not here with us, you have made the biggest impact of my life. You were the first person to break my heart.
